Anime Zero Evolution: Every Awakening Recipe and Where to Farm It

Prerequisites
Own at least one weapon
Checked

Evolving a weapon in Anime Zero unlocks its ultimate, the fourth skill you fire with G. Every weapon asks for its own recipe of materials, Coins and Gems, and you read it at the Evolution area in the lobby with your owned count printed next to the requirement. Sixteen weapons have a published recipe and this page lists them together, with the drop route for every ingredient in the table.

What Evolution Unlocks

A weapon you have not evolved gives you a basic attack and three skills. The fourth slot stays locked, and it is the one that holds the ultimate, which you fire with the G key. Evolving a weapon opens that slot; it does not change the three skills you already had.

Evolution is paid per weapon, and the price is not shared. Two weapons can ask for completely different ingredients, so the panel for one tells you nothing about the panel for another. If you use the same main every run, that is the weapon whose recipe matters first.

How to Evolve a Weapon

  1. Open the Evolution area. Use the Areas menu from the lobby and travel to Evolution.
  2. Talk to the Evolution NPC with the interact prompt and pick the weapon you want to upgrade.
  3. Read the whole requirement list. Requirements include material rows, a Coin price and a Gem price, and some rows sit below the first screen. Scroll to the bottom before you leave.
  4. Compare owned against required. The panel prints your current count next to the required quantity, so the shortfall is the row you still need to farm.
  5. Collect the missing items. Use the ingredient table below for the chapter, raid or conversion route of each one.
  6. Return and press Evolve. The fourth skill unlocks immediately.

If the Evolve button will not light up

  • Confirm the selected weapon is the one you are collecting for. The panel keeps the selection you last opened.
  • Close the panel and open it again, then re-read every row. One full ingredient can hide a second row that is still empty.
  • If the panel disagrees with your inventory right after an update, reopen it once more before reporting anything missing.

Awakening Recipes by Weapon

Sixteen of the roster's weapons have a published recipe, listed below with the materials, Coins and Gems each one asks for. The two raid-path weapons, Shadow Monarch and Mochi Commander, have their own routes and no published quantities, so their rows name the ingredients only.

Cataclysm and Flame Director are the two rows two independent editors publish line for line; read everything else as one table's reading and confirm it on the Evolution panel before you farm for hours. A dash means the published table lists no value for that column, not that the cost is zero.

Players also search the four Trials kits by character name — Astra Yao, Rin Okumura, Frieren and Ye-0 — because the update log and player wikis use both naming styles. The row you want is the kit name the Evolution panel prints when you select the weapon.

Where Every Ingredient Comes From

Most awakening materials are chapter drops, and the stage preview before a run lists what that act can drop. Check the preview rather than farming blind: two ingredients can share a panel but sit in different chapters.

Material Shop stock is limited and refreshes on a timer, so the shop covers a small shortfall rather than a full recipe. The listed prices above come from one player wiki's material table; read the shop itself for what is actually in stock today.

Save Shared Materials Before You Craft

Warning: Fine Cloth is spent on awakenings and on accessory recipes. Subtract your main weapon's awakening requirement before you count what is spare: if a recipe wants 20 Fine Cloth and you hold 27, you have seven free, and crafting past that sends you back to story mode for the ingredient you already needed.

Write the two totals down before a crafting session — your weapon recipe and the accessory you want — then farm the larger of the two shortfalls rather than switching between them.

What No Published Source Settles

  1. Whether the listed Coins and Gems are the whole price. The panel shows a final price row; a source can read the material rows and miss it, which is one reason several rows here carry no Coin figure.
  2. Eyeball's chapter. Its shop price is published, its drop chapter is not.
  3. Quantities for the raid paths. Shadow Monarch's three Monarch Path stages and Mochi Commander's two ingredients have names published without counts.
  4. Whether recipes changed with Update 3. Unlock targets for the new Trials kits have moved since launch, so treat any recipe as a starting reference.
  5. Drop rates. No source read here publishes per-run odds or a guaranteed route for any ingredient.
Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to evolve a weapon to use its ultimate?

Yes. A weapon that has not been evolved gives you a basic attack and three skills, and the fourth slot holds the ultimate, which you fire with the G key. Evolving it in the Evolution area opens that slot.

Is awakening the same thing as evolution in Anime Zero?

Both words describe the same Evolution menu and the same fourth-skill unlock. The one difference worth knowing is Shadow Monarch: its awakening is split into three named stages on the Monarch Path, so it is not paid in a single step.

Why is the Evolve button still greyed out?

Check that the selected weapon is the one you are collecting for, then close and reopen the panel and scroll through every requirement row. Ingredients that share an icon but not a name are easy to mix up, and one empty row keeps the button locked even when the rest are full.

Should I evolve every weapon I own?

No. Each evolution is paid per weapon, so spreading materials across several weapons finishes none of them. Evolve the weapon you clear runs with first, then the partner in your second slot.

Can codes pay for an awakening?

Codes cover part of the bill. They pay Coins and Gems, which is the currency half of most recipes, and some codes hand over awakening ingredients; no code found here covers a whole recipe, so treat them as a discount on the farming rather than a replacement for it.
