AnimeZero
Hu Tao raid (5 October 2026), re-read on the 18 October build

Spirit's Bathtub: the 2% Hu Tao Drop, the 35-Step Pity and the Awakening Bill

Prerequisites
Raids unlocked; Nightmare difficulty; one character slot you can replace
Checked

Spirit’s Bathtub is the Nightmare-only raid tagged Raid [Act 1] that drops Hu Tao. The reward strip prints three rows: the unit at 2% with a 35-step counter, Staff of Homa at 25% with a 5-step counter, and Ghost at 33% for x1–3. Every clear pays $22.4K and 450 gems. The same slot is printed as Flame Director on 18 October and as Paramita Pyre on 5 October, so read your own tooltip. Finishing the unit is a four-row Evolution bill of 20 / 8 / 25 / 10 plus 1,000,000 coins and 10,000 gems, and two of those rows drop from this same raid.

One Raid, Three Names, and a Unit With Two

Spirit’s Bathtub [NIGHTMARE] is the card in Create Lobby → Raid, tagged Raid [Act 1]. Three names travel with it and all three open the same lobby. The card prints Spirit’s Bathtub. Creators title their guides “Spirited Away” or “Spirits Bathtub”. Wikis call it the Spirit Bathhouse, because the map is the bathhouse from the film. If you searched any of those, you are in the right place.

The unit you are farming has the same problem twice over. The 2% slot is tooltipped Paramita Pyre in the 5 October frame and Flame Director in the 18 October frame, both times marked LYTH and both times with a line saying it unlocks the unit in one of your character slots. Players search the character she is modelled on, Hu Tao, and the weapons catalogue already files the row as Flame Director with Hu Tao as the alias. This page keeps that pairing and names the older print whenever it matters.

Nightmare is the only difficulty that opens. All three lobby frames read for this page show four difficulty slots with three greyed out, so there is no easier tier to learn the fight on. Max Players reads 06 in the 5 and 6 October frames and 02 in the 18 October frame; that field is set by the host, not fixed by the raid, and one of those recordings is a solo clear.

The Drop Strip, Row by Row

The whole farm plan sits on the reward strip under the difficulty row. Hovering an item slot names it.

SlotPanel printCounterWhat the panel says
Coins$22.4K—Paid on every clear
Gemsx450—Paid on every clear
Unit slot (Hu Tao)2%Pity 0/35 on 5 Oct, 33/35 on 18 OctLYTH. Tooltip reads Paramita Pyre (5 Oct) and Flame Director (18 Oct), “unlocks … in one of your character slots”
Staff of Homa25%Pity 0/5 on 5 Oct, 2/5 on 18 OctMythic. “Still warm from the funeral parlor.”
Ghost33% x1–3No counter printedMythic. “It followed you home.., didn’t it?”

The number to read is the second half of each counter: 35 for the unit and 5 for Staff of Homa. The 18 October frame reads 33/35 and 2/5 on the same account, which is the useful part of the evidence: the counters are stored, they keep counting between sessions, and a farm can be spread over several days instead of one sitting.

Two per cent per clear is also why 35 is a budget line rather than a promise. At a flat 2% the chance of at least one drop in 35 clears is about 51% (1 − 0.9835), and no line on the panel says the 35th clear is guaranteed. Treat the counter as the point where you should expect to be done, not the point where the game promises to finish.

What a Clear Pays, and How Long It Takes

The first two rows are a payout, not a chance: $22.4K and 450 gems every clear, whatever drops. The recorded solo clear read for this page finishes with 03:26 on the victory timer, and the same creator walks the run section by section. Because the unit is a per-clear chance, clear speed is the drop rate: shaving a minute off a run is worth more than any single upgrade to the payout.

Do not read the coins as profit per hour. Raid attempts are capped — the leveling page already says so — and no panel read for this page prints the cap or the cooldown, so what is established here is the per-clear payout, not how many clears a session allows.

How a Run Is Shaped

The recordings agree on the shape and disagree on one count. On the entry floor you clear three waves of bathhouse spirits, then take the elevator up. One creator reads the next floor as three waves plus an elite wave and then the boss; the other reads five waves there. Both end at the same boss.

That boss is No-Face. His health bar prints call-outs while he summons, and the section that decides a fast run from a failed one starts around half health, when copies join the fight. Two creators describe the same response: hold the ultimate for the clone phase instead of opening with it, then damage the boss and the copy together. One third-party summary adds that boss health scales with party size; no frame read here prints that scaling, so it is worth knowing rather than relying on.

StageWhat the recordings show
Entry floor, three wavesBathhouse spirits in packs; the wave counter runs 1/3 to 3/3 before the exit opens
ElevatorThe only break in the run; the next floor starts as soon as you arrive
Second floorMore waves of the same enemies, plus the elite wave one creator counts separately
No-Face, first phaseDamageable throughout; the bar prints summon call-outs
No-Face, clone phaseCopies join from roughly half health; the recorded fast clears answer it with the ultimate instead of single-target damage

The 03:26 clear is one account’s run on a strong loadout, not a target for a first attempt. What transfers is the order: clear the waves without spending cooldowns you need later, and arrive at No-Face with the ultimate ready.

The Awakening Bill: 20 / 8 / 25 / 10, 1M Coins, 10K Gems

The drop is the cheap half. The EVOLUTION panel reads Requirements 5/6 in the 18 October frame: four ingredient rows, then coins and gems, with your owned count printed beside each requirement.

RequirementAmountPanel readingWhere it comes from
Fine Cloth20x50/20Story chapters; also sold in the Material Shop
Magic Pendant8x3/8Chapter 1; Material Shop
Ghost25x33/25This raid, 33% row, x1–3 per drop
Staff of Homa10x12/10This raid, 25% row with a 5-step counter
Coins1,000,000x1.3M/1MMode and code rewards
Gems10,000x27.4K/10KMode and code rewards

Two of the four ingredient rows come from the raid you are already running. That is the practical shape of this farm: 25 Ghost and 10 Staff of Homa are both raid drops, and neither arrives in one lucky clear, so the material farm and the unit farm are the same loop rather than two projects. A run that drops the unit still leaves you short of materials, and a run that pays 3 Ghost is progress on the bill.

Fine Cloth is the row to reserve. It drops in every story chapter and the same material goes into accessory recipes, so check what your accessory plan needs before you spend the 20 on this awakening. The evolution page carries the same four quantities in its recipe table, which is where the material names come from; the panel prints icons and quantities, not names.

The Two Titles These Runs Feed

Two titles are attached to this raid and one of them can be missed by playing normally. Its tooltip reads Clear the Raid as Paramita Pyre without using your Ultimate. (0/1), and the titles page lists the payout as +15% Damage, +20% HP, +5% cooldown reduction and +5% Drop Rate. The second title reads simply Awaken any character.

The condition counts a clear, not an attempt. So the run that satisfies it is a run where the ultimate never fires: if you are chasing the title, take that clear before the ultimate becomes part of your rotation on this unit, and hold it for the clone phase only when you are not chasing it.

What No Source Settles

  • The attempt cap and cooldown. No panel read here prints either. Third-party summaries relay five free runs and then a 30-minute cooldown from the 9–10 October balance fix; this page does not treat that as read, so plan sessions around the number you see in the lobby.
  • Whether the 35th clear is guaranteed. The counter is printed; the guarantee is not. The 51% figure above is what a flat 2% predicts, not a claim about pity behaviour.
  • A level gate. No frame read here shows an entry requirement, and the recordings enter at level 129 and above, so this page cannot say what the minimum is.
  • Whether Drop Rate gear moves these rows. One creator says on camera that he does not know whether a +10% Drop Rate accessory touches the weapon row. Nothing read here settles it.
  • Which name your slot will print. Early October frames read Paramita Pyre and the 18 October frame reads Flame Director. Open the tooltip on your own screen before you conclude the raid dropped something else.
  • Boss health scaling with party size. Reported by a third party, unread on any frame here.
  • Whether the 22 October build changed these numbers. The listing’s updated field moved that day, but its name, description and badges did not, and no recording from after that build was read for this page.

What to Do First

  1. Open Create Lobby, pick Raid, and read the Spirit’s Bathtub card. Confirm Nightmare is the only open difficulty and read your own counter on the 2% slot; that number decides whether this is a two-run job or a week.
  2. Free a character slot. The 18 October recording gets a Replace Unit? window when the drop lands, so the slot question arrives with the drop, not before it.
  3. Keep the Ghost and Staff of Homa drops from the same runs. 25 and 10 of them are already on the awakening bill; selling them back turns a lucky unit drop into a second farm.
  4. Take the no-ultimate clear early if you want the title. +5% Drop Rate is worth more before a long farm than after it.
  5. Compare the 1,000,000 coins and 10,000 gems with your other bills on the evolution page before committing, because the same Fine Cloth feeds accessory recipes.
Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get Hu Tao in Anime Zero?

Run the Spirit's Bathtub raid on Nightmare and roll the 2% row, which carries a 35-step pity counter. It is a per-clear drop, not a banner unit: the reward strip prints the unit, Staff of Homa and Ghost on the same panel, and nothing read for this page shows it in a summon pool.

Is Flame Director the same as Paramita Pyre?

Both names are printed on the same 2% raid slot. The 5 October frame tooltips it as Paramita Pyre and the 18 October frame tooltips it as Flame Director, each saying it unlocks that unit in one of your character slots. The site files the row as Flame Director with Hu Tao as the alias, and the title tooltip still uses the older name.

How many runs does the drop take?

The counter reads 35 for the unit and 2% is the per-clear rate. At a flat 2% you have about a 51% chance of at least one drop in 35 clears, and no panel line says the last step is guaranteed. One account was at 33/35 on 18 October, which shows the counter is stored across sessions.

Is Spirit's Bathtub the same raid as Spirited Away?

Yes. The lobby card prints Spirit's Bathtub [NIGHTMARE] with Raid [Act 1] underneath; creators title the same content Spirited Away or Spirits Bathtub, and wikis call it the Spirit Bathhouse. The map is the bathhouse from the film, which is where the third name comes from.

Can you solo the raid?

Yes. One recording is a solo clear that finishes at 03:26, and its lobby has Matchmaking off with Max Players 02. A third-party summary says boss health scales with party size, which would make a full lobby a longer fight; no frame read here prints that scaling.

What does awakening Flame Director cost?

Four ingredient rows plus two currencies: 20 Fine Cloth, 8 Magic Pendant, 25 Ghost, 10 Staff of Homa, 1,000,000 coins and 10,000 gems. The Evolution panel prints Requirements 5/6 with your owned counts beside each row, and two of those ingredients drop from this same raid.
