Subzero: the Crimson Eclipse Weapon Skin and How to Equip It

Prerequisites
Crimson Eclipse owned; Backpack unlocked
Checked

Subzero is a weapon skin, not a unit. The Backpack panel lists it with an Arcane label, a chip that reads CRIMSON ECLIPSE SKIN, and the line Crimson Eclipse's weapon · Equipped, so the thing it changes is Chisa's scissor blade rather than your roster. The creator who showed it says it came from Tidal High Rise on Nightmare and puts the drop at 2% in his own caption while adding that he is not sure about other difficulties. Equipping is a Backpack job: open the Skins tab, select Subzero, press Equip. No stat line appears on the skin panel in the frames read here, so treat it as appearance, and check your own Skins tab before you farm: the same panel shows two copies owned.

What Subzero Is

Subzero is a cosmetic for a weapon you already own. The item panel prints five things that settle it: the name Subzero, the rarity label Arcane, a corner chip reading CRIMSON ECLIPSE SKIN, the line Crimson Eclipse's weapon with Equipped beside it, and a copies counter reading You Own 2x.

That last line matters for two reasons. It tells you the skin belongs to one weapon rather than to the account in general, and it tells you the panel can hold more than one copy of the same cosmetic. The two buttons under it are Unequip and Copies; what Copies opens was not shown in the frames read here.

It is not a unit and not a rarity upgrade. Nothing on the panel changes the weapon's stats, and no source read for this page describes Subzero as a separate fighter you can field.

Where It Drops

The only route read for this page comes from one creator, and it is worth separating what the frames show from what his caption says.

Shown in the footage: the How To Get Skin chapter opens Create Lobby, selects Tidal High Rise [NIGHTMARE], and the run that follows is on Nightmare against the boss Gaku. The reward panel under the difficulty row is the same strip this site already documents for that mode.

Stated in his captions, not printed on any panel: that the skin came from Nightmare mode, that the drop is 2%, and that he is not sure whether other difficulties drop it. Treat the 2% as his figure. The strip's own rows did not render legibly in the frames read here, so this page cannot confirm a rate or a pity counter from the game itself.

If you are going to spend an evening on it, open Tidal High Rise on Nightmare and read your own reward strip before the run, the same way the material rows on that page are read.

How to Equip It

The panel header reads Equip Skin, and the route is the same for every cosmetic in that menu:

  1. Open your Backpack. The header reads Backpack and Manage your items, with a Loadout counter of 4/4 on the left.
  2. Use the Skins tab. The tab row next to Accessories is the one that holds cosmetics rather than gear.
  3. Select Subzero. The right-hand panel fills with the name, the rarity label, the weapon chip and the copies counter.
  4. Press Equip. Once it is on, the button pair under the item switches to Unequip and Copies, which is how you can tell the look is live.
  5. Check the weapon, not the menu. The showcase frames show the blade in its icy colour while the panel still reads Equipped, so the cosmetic stays on until you remove it.

The item panel also answers a question players ask before grinding: if your Skins tab already lists Subzero with a copy count, you own it and only need to equip it.

What It Changes

The visible change is the weapon's colour and effect: the showcase frames show Crimson Eclipse's blade carrying cold blue-white effects on its swings, including on the basic attack.

What it does not change, as far as anything read here shows: the panel carries no stat line, no damage figure and no note about skills or awakening. A skin that changes appearance is the whole of what was observed, which is also why the page does not tell you it is worth farming for damage.

One practical consequence: the cosmetic is tied to Crimson Eclipse, so it only becomes visible once you own that weapon and have it equipped. If you have not crafted Chisa yet, the skin can sit in the Backpack, but there is nothing to put it on.

The “Shiny Subzero” Search

Players arrive here from searches that add a word the panel does not use: shiny. What the game prints is Subzero, with Arcane under it and a Crimson Eclipse chip in the corner.

Nothing read for this page describes a second item called shiny Subzero, or a separate unit with that name. The game-specific results read for this page that name Subzero in Anime Zero either showcase this skin or list it as a cosmetic.

The word itself is real, though, and it is a skin tag rather than a rarity tier: Golden Throne, a skin from the Season 1 pass, prints LYTH beside SHINY on its card. Subzero's card prints Arcane and no shiny tag. So a search for ‘shiny Subzero’ is reaching for a tag this skin does not carry; the skins page lists all five skins read so far and which of them prints stats. If your own Backpack prints a different name, rarity or weapon chip, that panel is the thing to trust over a search phrase.

The Subzero Pity Row on the Summon Screen

A recording uploaded on 27 October 2026 prints a counter labelled Subzero Pity at 1/100, on the same stack as the summon counters: Mythical Pity /175, Arcane Pity /350, LYTH Pity /3500 and Celestial Pity /7500. Subzero's is the only row with a 100 denominator, and it sits in the summon screen rather than in the Backpack.

What fills that row is not settled by the frame. The three explanations players posted under the same upload disagree: that it tracks a second weapon added to the spins, that it is this Crimson Eclipse skin listed in the spin menu, and that it belongs to another mode rather than to spins. The panel prints the name and the counter; nothing read here says which summon moves it or what it pays.

Two consequences. A pity counter for Subzero does exist, which settles the half this page used to leave open — but a counter is not a drop rate, and the 2% figure stays the creator's caption until a reward strip is read. And if your own summon screen prints a different denominator, that screen is the newer reading, because this row was read once. The pity and lucky spins page carries the same five-row reading next to the older ladder notes.

What Is Still Unconfirmed

Four points stay open, and each one can be settled on your own screen.

  • The drop rate, and what the Subzero Pity counter pays. The 2% figure is the creator's caption; the reward strip in the frames read here does not render its rows legibly, so the rate is his number rather than a reading. The Subzero Pity row read at 1/100 confirms a counter exists, not what it grants or which summon fills it.
  • Whether lower difficulties drop it. He says he is not sure, and no other surface read for this page lists the skin at all.
  • Whether it changes anything beyond appearance. The panel prints no stat line, but a hidden effect cannot be ruled out from a menu, so treat appearance as the verified part.
  • What the Copies button does. It sits next to Unequip, and nothing in the footage shows it being pressed.

What to Do First

The order below starts with the free check, because the expensive half only makes sense after it.

  1. Open the Skins tab. If Subzero is already there with a copy count, you spent nothing and only need to equip it.
  2. Craft the weapon first. The skin sits on Crimson Eclipse, so the craft on the Tidal High Rise page is the prerequisite that actually gates the look.
  3. Read the Nightmare reward strip before farming. Confirm which rows that mode pays in your build, then decide whether a cosmetic is the row you want to chase.
  4. Equip it and check the blade in a run, not in the menu. The panel confirms the state; the weapon model confirms the effect.
Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Subzero skin in Anime Zero?

A weapon skin for Crimson Eclipse. The Backpack panel prints the name Subzero with an Arcane label, a CRIMSON ECLIPSE SKIN chip and the line Crimson Eclipse's weapon, so it changes how Chisa's blade looks rather than adding a unit or a rarity tier.

How do you get the Subzero skin?

The creator who showed it says it dropped in Tidal High Rise on Nightmare, and his run in the same video is that mode against Gaku. His caption also puts the rate at 2% and admits he has not tested other difficulties, so read your own reward strip before you commit an evening to it.

Does the Subzero skin change your stats?

No stat line appears anywhere on the skin panel read for this page: no damage, no cooldown, no skill note. Appearance is the verified change. If a hidden effect exists it is not printed in any frame read here.

Is Subzero a shiny unit?

No. The panel calls it a skin and ties it to Crimson Eclipse's weapon with an Arcane label and no shiny tag. The SHINY tag does exist in the game: Golden Throne, a Season 1 pass skin, prints LYTH and SHINY, so shiny is a tag a skin can carry rather than a separate fighter.

How do you equip a weapon skin in Anime Zero?

Open the Backpack, switch to the Skins tab, select the item and press Equip. The panel header reads Equip Skin, and once the cosmetic is live the buttons under the item read Unequip and Copies.

What is the Subzero Pity counter in Anime Zero?

It is a counter printed in the summon screen, labelled Subzero, that reads 1/100 in a 27 October 2026 recording. It sits under the Celestial, LYTH, Arcane and Mythical pity rows and is the only one with a 100 denominator. What fills it is not settled: players under the same upload describe it as a second spin weapon, as this Crimson Eclipse skin, and as a counter for another mode. Read your own screen before you spend for it.
